Sephora Play January 2019

The theme of the January 2019 Sephora Play box is the stars and horoscopes. The outside of their insert is a horoscope with all of the signs and a little makeup predication to go with it. So cute! I always like to read what Sephora puts on the outside of their pamphlets as they are usually pretty informative and fun to read. Another thing I always love about the Sephora Play box is that the inside of the insert is very descriptive of each product. When trying to test out each product, it gives me a good idea of how to use it and what the product is supposed to accomplish.

Bite Beauty – Matte Crème Lip Crayon – Glace

My biggest first impression when I picked this lip crayon out of the box was the packaging. I LOVE it. It has a smooth, soft, sleek feel to the outside. It is entirely black with the color of the lip crayon on the bottom. The lip crayon has a very pointed tip to start off with that is supposed to be used to help you line your lips. A tip the pamphlet gives is when the tip gets dull, if you choose to sharpen it, use the shaving as color on your cheeks. The color of Glace is described as a dusty-mauve shade with a matte finish. This product claims to have a long wear formula that seals in moisture for a water-resistant, hydrating finish using orange peel wax. The Matte Crème Lip Crayon in Glace is an exclusive product of Sephora. This comes in a large sample size.

Laneige – Water Sleeping Mask

Pretty excited to try this sleeping mask since my skin is so dry. It claims to rehydrate skin with hydro ionized mineral water while you sleep. I really like how even the little sample box has directions, benefits, and main features listed on it. This product is to be used 1-2 times as well or as skin is dry. The sample size is 0.3 fl oz which should give you a few tries. I think it looks a little small for a moisturizer. The Laneige Water Sleeping Mask is an exclusive product of Sephora.

Sunday Riley – C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum

This sample came in a cute little information bag. I really appreciate that since the larger bag allows Sunday Riley to put lots of information about the product on the bag. This C.E.O Brightening Serum has 15% Vitamin C and claims to “rapidly brighten the appearance of the skin and boost vital skin bounce.” It is supposed to fight the look of dullness, dark spots and discoloration on the skin. It will instantly illuminate the complexion and help reduce the look of skin sensitivity.

BeautyBlender – blendercleanser solid pro

I am so excited to have received this product in this months Sephora Play box! I have been looking for a really easy and good way to clean my sponges and brushes and perhaps one fell right into my hands. The blendercleanser is supposedly so easy to use! Just wet your sponge or brush and then run it over the blendercleanser until it lathers. Squeeze out the water and repeat until it is clean! This cleanser is charcoal-infused and claims to remove excess product, dirt, and oil from makeup tools!

Four Sigmatic – Golden Latte Mushroom Mix with Shiitake & Turmeric

I am not going to lie, I am a little nervous about this one just because I have never tried anything like it. The Sephora Play box included 3 packets of this in the box which I think is great! They are large packets so I believe I will really get a sense on if it works or not. It claims to “deliver a glow-from-within radiance.” This is a dairy free latte mix that is lightly sweet and made with ingredients that help support full body well-being. Just mix with 7 ounces of hot water and you’re good to go!

Bite Beauty – Agave Sugar Lip Balm and Scrub

A little disappointing on the sample packaging of this product. It is SO SMALL. All you get to try this out is two little balls of product (I don’t know how else to describe it 😊). I have severely dry lips so I am still excited to test out this duo however! This claims to “deliver soft, smooth, hydrated skin.”

I love the unboxing experience that comes along with Sephora Play. They ship the subscription in a beautifully designed box. Whenever I see this show up at my front door, I already get excited before I even touch it! That is the power of a custom box.

Products Received 5*

o I really liked the products I received. I am stoked to try 4 of them as they will fit right in with my current routine. The lip balm, the sleeping mask and blendercleanser will fit right in. No need to fear though, I will still make time to review the other three as well.

Value 5*

o I think this box provides great value. For only $10 I get to try out products that I would have never had tried out had I been forced to buy the full size. It is just not worth it for me to spend a bunch of money on something I am not sure I am going to love.
